Technical specifications for Graphic Designers:

GENERAL FILE PREPARATION GUIDELINES
&
FILE CONVERSION PROCEDURE FOR SUPPLYING MAC DISK FOR PC OUTPUT

 

LINE-ART FILES for computer cut vinyl output 

DO's

  1. Save file to PC-FORMATTED media, or in PC byte order
  2. Adobe Illustrator files, versions 88 through 6.0
  3. Export/Save as Illustrator or Illustrator EPS (.ai, .eps)
  4. Supply VECTOR ART only for line-art objects
  5. Convert all fonts to curve or paths.
  6. Supply hardcopy by courier or fax

DONT's

  1. DO NOT include any TIFF, scanned, bitmap or raster images embedded in your .ai/.eps files. Supply rasters as separate file (.TIF, .JPG or .PSD)
  2. DO NOT include fonts: CONVERT ALL TO PATH ("graphics")
  3. DO NOT include paragraphical text (all text should be "graphics")
  4. DO NOT include any screens or halftones
  5. DO NOT include any stroke or "outline" effects (colour fill only is acceptable)
  6. DO NOT send Quark Express files; Significant Signs Ltd.  CANNOT read, import or convert .QXD files.

 

Artwork Hints:


Contacting elements should be "welded"

 

 

• Avoid complex overlay objects such as double drop shadows

 

 

• Contour all single line to double line artwork
